Collegiate Marketing Group, LLC has been hired by a large co-op of local hotels and nightclubs to market Spring Break 2010 to the student masses. Spring Break 2009 was an incredible season that featured top recording artists such as Lil Wayne and Kenney Chesney playing huge beachfront concerts. With events hosted by MTV stars and popular reality show celebrities, it is clear that this Gulf of Mexico resort town wants to continue the reputation of being called the undisputed Spring Break “Capital of the World.”
Collegiate Marketing Group plans a massive internet campaign that will feature Facebook, Twitter, and other popular social networking sites. The group has also recently launched a brand new website that features current Spring Break news and area information on “Where to Stay” and “Where to Party”. The Panama City Beach Tourist Development Council will also reach out to university radio stations and newspapers to educate students about the area as well.
In addition, the marketing plans include booking celebrities from MTV Reality shows to both spread the word about Spring Break through their Facebook sites and host local events during March. Celebrities currently being contracted to appear are from “The Hills” and other popular MTV television shows.
